how we do pt3

The reception! There’s dinner, speeches, dancing, drunk people (usually), and it’s amazing and we love it. At this time we like to be sat with guests so we can blend in and not be tiptoed around because we’re “the photographers”. I just feel like there’s this idea of who photographers are that is just, like, not us. Seat us with anyone — we’ll swear and be weird with the whacky, barely-invited guests seated at the furthest table, or be sweet and charming at a close family table. Either way, we’ll be ready when something good happens to snap into action and catch it, and then go back and scarf down our food in between speeches (should you choose to have them during dinner like what seems to be the norm right meow).

we totally love a good garter/bouquet toss as much as the next guy… but also that’s a tradition that can die in a fire if you ask me. BUT IF YOU DO IT BEFORE IT’S TIME FOR US TO LEAVE, WE’LL GET IT.

traditional first dances and people getting sloppy

If you’re not dancers, you literally don’t even have to have ANY dancing at your wedding. But most of the time, we see dancing. First dance between the newlyweds, then with parents or whatever, maybe a Hora. As fun as it is to see people who’ve taken dancing lessons and are doing a choreographed dance, to be honest, most of the time when they do this at the wedding their faces are just screaming “I AM CONCENTRATING VERY HARD” and i dunno about you, but… my concentration face is like…. not super photogenic. If you just hold each other and sway, you’ll be able to stay in the moment and actually enjoy yourself. JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

that’s all she wrote. if you have questions, head on over to the contact page and ask! open book right here.
